Darphin Aromatic Renewing Balm Review

Darphin Aromatic Renewing Balm
All I can think about of late is getting back to Paris; I had an incredible weekend there with Jamie and eight of our friends. A feast of beige foods and Desperados fuelled our 12-hour days of walking, where we explored the city's every nook and cranny and, of course, Disneyland.

It was a dream, but the resulting windburn? Well, needless to say that wasn't so dreamy, and thoughtlessly, I hadn't armed myself with reparative skincare. It wasn't until I got home that I had the hard stuff within reach, where my skincare stash boasted a number of goodies promising to plump and restore. I'm currently disciplining myself to use up my opened jars, so instead of breaking the seal on a newbie, I grabbed this pot of gold.

Darphin Aromatic Renewing Balm is something I've owned for a while, but until recently, it had been languishing in a drawer. I'm ashamed of this for two reasons - one, I never gave it a real chance, and two, when I did try it, I smothered a thick night cream over the top. Needless to say, my pores couldn't handle so much product at once, and had I worn it alone, I now know I wouldn't have broken out.

In fact, it was the antidote to most of my weekend sins, and one thin layer plumped and preened my skin back to its best. The balm is firm but it melts down when warmed between fingers and glides right over your skin with just the smallest, pea-sized amount. I massage it onto my freshly-cleansed pores and lightly tap over contours, then breathe in the pared-down citrus scent and put myself to bed.

Not only does the potent blend of oils tackle under-the-skin bumps, but reddened and chapped patches are soothed and cosseted, too. While the tiny pot is pricey, it's really all you'll need, so you'll save money on serums and night creams by using this treatment instead. For me, it's been quite a breakthrough as it's shrunk my pores down too, and now I can't honestly remember a time my skin has looked so calm. Even the stubborn dry patches around my nose have disappeared, and the sensitivities on my chin are behaving like balanced skin at last. It's a little to wear in the daytime use but something to look forward to using at night; one of those products that has you itching to remove your makeup and slather it on.
