This season seems to be all about lip hybrids. There’s a flurry of supremely nourishing lipsticks being released over the upcoming months, and Giorgio Armani Cosmetics haven’t missed the trick. Rouge d’Armani Sheers is a range of 12 semi-sheer lipsticks in an array of colours from the very bold and bright, to the beautifully nude and peachy. But unlike many lipsticks, they’re much less pigmented. For those who usually stick to a gloss and shy away from concentrated, opaque lip colour, these are perfect. Vivid, and yet somehow translucent all at once, they simply lend lips a glow of colour.
The two shades I have are Red (402) and Plum (602). The Red is a beautifully blue-toned shade, and lightly tints and moisturises my lips. It may look bright in the tube, but on application it kicks up my lip colour slightly, without appearing too shocking. Plum is deep and dark in the tube, and on lips the vampy shade still translates, but it is incredibly wearable as it just lends a purple haze over my natural lip colour.
These are great additions to holiday makeup bags because of their no-fuss application. Knowing that I can’t go overboard means that I can easily swipe these on when I’m on the go without even glancing in a mirror, and the moisturising formula lessens the need for balm. Plus, the magnetic lid ensures there are no accidental lipstick smudges on the inside of your travel bag - a big plus for a panicky packer like me.
